(Deddington, UK – April 15, 2026)

Theon Design has unveiled its latest bespoke Porsche 911 964 commission – a lightweight, rear-wheel drive re-engineering of a Carrera 4 donor, producing 407 bhp from a naturally aspirated 3.8-litre air-cooled flat-six.

Converted from four-wheel drive to Carrera 2 specification with a fully rebuilt five-speed 964 gearbox, the latest Theon creation delivers a purer, rear-driven balance while retaining everyday usability through TracTive semi-active suspension with front axle lift.

The car features a full carbon fibre body, with steel doors intentionally retained to preserve the distinctive closing feel associated with classic 911s. A bespoke 2.7 RS-style ducktail has been produced specifically for this client in carbon fibre, while the inner surfaces of the engine lid and front compartment are finished in satin clear lacquer to reveal the exposed weave beneath.

A deeply personal colour commission

This car is defined by a unique paint-to-sample finish developed by blending two historic Porsche shades – Nato Olive Green and Underberg – to create a tone specified exclusively for the client.

Light ghost stripes and champagne Porsche script add subtle contrast, while champagne-finished brightwork and 18-inch Fuchs-style alloy wheels reinforce the theme. Behind the wheels sit RS specification brakes finished in Brembo red.

The engine bay continues the detailing theme, featuring carbon fibre engine tinware, a champagne-finished 997 GT3 plenum and matching engine fan. A switchable exhaust system remains restrained at low load before opening automatically under hard driving – you can also open the valve manually.

Lightweight engineering and modern control

Power is delivered through Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, while the TracTive semi-active suspension system enables the car to shift from compliant road use to more focused dynamic control. The permanent-feed rear camera automatically switches when reversing, discreetly integrated to maintain visual purity.

Contemporary analogue interior

The cabin structure is constructed entirely from carbon fibre before being hand-trimmed in Liquorice and Saddle Brown leather. Full aesthetic carbon tubs extend rearwards to create a sculptural interior architecture.

Recaro CS front seats are trimmed in Pepita cloth inspired by the 1970’s 911, but utilising the updated material (from the OEM supplier) for the 991 Sport Classic, to reinforce the link to Porsche heritage.

A machined billet aluminium dashboard introduces a subtle crown designed to catch the light, echoed in the milled aluminium detailing of the air vents, door handles and window switches.

Technology is deliberately restrained. The audio system is Bluetooth-only, paired with a Focal amplifier and six Focal speakers. Hidden USB-C ports are discreetly integrated within the cabin.

Each Theon commission is developed in close collaboration with its owner and requires approximately 18 months to complete. Prices start at £430,000 excluding donor car, shipping and local taxes.
